About
Marcela Villanueva is an Argentine cultural manager, curator and producer based in Berlin. She founded Karne Kunst in 2017 and founded and artistically directs Bardo Projektraum, working across curatorial practice, programme design, cultural leadership and public funding.
Her work is rooted in feminist and migrant perspectives, with a focus on socially engaged contemporary art and on creating lasting structures for artists and cultural workers — Latin American, Caribbean and diasporic practices in particular.
Alongside Karne Kunst and Bardo, she founded the Vierte Welle Film Festival, co-founded Sorora e.V., and runs Projektraum Coswig in Anhalt. Through exhibitions, festivals, residencies, workshops, publications and networks, she works to expand visibility, resources and spaces for exchange among underrepresented artistic voices.
She is also the author of Funding Fiesta, a practical guide to cultural funding in Berlin and Germany.
